The Kansas Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, a professional association for FCS teachers, publicly announced today the list of recipients of their 2022-2023 KAFCS Awards and WMS teacher Ms. Lindy Fike was selected as the recipient of the Martha Streeter New Achievers Award!
According to the association, "The Martha Streeter New Achievers Award was developed to recognize emerging professionals who have exhibited the potential to make significant contributions in or through family consumer sciences." Ms. Fike will be presented with a plaque in March and is now in consideration for the national New Achiever Award from the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS).
This is Ms. Fike's third year working for USD 353 as an FCS teacher at Wellington Middle School. She is also a 2015 graduate of WHS. Congratulations, Ms. Fike!
