Test to Stay Information

USD 353 will follow the KDHE Stay to Learn guidelines. USD 353 is including athletics and activities in this plan:

-Fully vaccinated people do not have to quarantine after exposure as long as they are not exhibiting any symptoms. Individuals will need to provide proof of vaccinated status or positive Covid test 6 months prior to exposure.

-If a student or staff member is considered a susceptible close contact they will be tested daily with an Antigen Test (rapid test) during their quarantine period and allowed to continue in-person learning if negative. If the test is positive, they will have a PCR test to verify positive results. If they receive a positive PCR test, they will be sent home and follow positive test isolation guidance. That guidance can be found here.

-A permission form will need to be signed by parent/guardian for testing a student. If they opt out of testing, normal KDHE quarantine guidance applies. Consent forms can be found under the Parents tab. Click on Forms. Fill out and take to you student(s) school. If consent is given, Parents/Guardians will be contacted prior to any student being tested. KSHE quarantine guidance can be found here

-The local health department will determine if symptomatic close contacts may continue in-person learning if they test negative.
