A Statement from USD 353 Superintendent Adam Hatfield

02.04.21 ADAM HATFIELD STATEMENT
  (USD 353 SUPERINTENDENT)

Dear USD 353 and Wellington Community,

I wanted to take a moment to provide a brief update.

We are now around two weeks into our elementary schools being back full time. Schools are continuing to follow health protocols. It is great to see our youngest students back in our buildings full time with their teachers and peers. I would like to thank our principals, teachers, and staff for their hard work and adaptability in making this happen. We will continue to monitor and make adjustments as needed.

Our middle and high school will continue in the established hybrid phase until further notice. We continue to follow state and local health guidelines for these grades.

We have communicated with the Sumner County Health Department and our local pharmacies regarding COVID-19 vaccines. They are expecting to have the vaccine available for K-12 staff soon and are hoping to have interested staff vaccinated by the end of February. We are working on a vaccination plan for our staff and will communicate once we have more information.

I want to continue to remind everyone that moving to remote learning for the district or an individual building could be necessary due to a cluster or staffing issue. We continue to monitor COVID-19 cases in our schools and update our website weekly with new cases. This information can be found under the district tab.  CLICK HERE

I will provide once a month updates throughout the rest of the school year, unless time sensitive information needs to be released.

Thank you for your support, patience, and flexibility as we continue through this complex year.
