DREAM CATCHERSMrs. Mayfield's Native American History classes at WMS were busy this past week with another hands-on project! Each class member constructed their own "Dream Catcher" to hang over their beds! What is a Dream Catcher you ask? Native Americans gave their children "Dream Catchers" to keep away the bad dreams.

WMS Student Wins County Spelling Bee - 2nd Year In A Row!

SUMNER COUNTY SPELLING BEEOver thirty "5th thru 8th graders" from across Sumner County competed Thursday morning at the Sumner County Spelling Bee held at Wellington Middle School. Congratulations to Wellington's MASON LOUGH, an 8th grader, who won the Bee today, the 2nd consecutive year the Bee was won by a Wellington student!

A Day At The Races, peppermint races that is....

PEPPERMINT RACERS6th Grade Science students at WMS in Mrs. Jerri Ann Fike's class, as part of an "engineering" project, constructed "PEPPERMINT RACERS" using peppermints as wheels and tested their construction and distance quality recently at the home of the KNIGHTS! Here are the outcomes!

WFD Fosters Learning @ After School Program

Fire DepartmentThe Wellington Fire Department has partnered with the After School Program for a mentoring program. Department members will be making a regular appearance in the middle and elementary schools, fostering education and career opportunities.

KNIGHT & CRUSADER BANDS PERFORM @ WHS!

WMS-WHS BAND CONCERTThe Knight and Crusader Bands performed Monday evening out at WHS under the direction of Mr. Kaleb Todd. A large crowd was on hand - 17 numbers were performed by 4 different bands (6th Grade band, 7/8th Grade Band, WHS Jazz Band, WHS Concert Band). Excellent performances by all!

WMS Spring Choir Concert Was A Jazzy Affair!

WMS Choir Singing JazzThe WMS Spring Choir Concert under the direction of Jessica Coldwell with piano accompanist Jeanie Escobar, was the event of the evening out at WHS before a nice sized crowd of family and friends. The 6th grade choir and later the 7th & 8th grades performed numerous numbers to the crowd's delight! A very impressive performance by all!
