WMS Science Fair! Tuesday and Wednesday this week, the WMS After School Program hosted a family event for their counterparts from the 4 elementary schools here in Wellington.

The Wellington Rotary honored 40 students and their parents Tuesday evening at their annual banquet, recognizing the academic achievements of 20 WHS SENIORS and 20 WMS 8TH GRADERS! The Sumner County Conservation District’s 73rd annual Bankers Award Dinner and Annual Meeting was held this past Saturday, (Feb. 20th) at the Raymond Frye Complex. Part of that annual event features the Coloring and Poster Contest Awards.

Last semester the 6th Grade students of Mrs. Wasser's ENCORE class read Lois Lowry's novel, "THE GIVER", together, and completed several projects individually and in partners to make "real world" connections and build reading comprehension skills. They wanted to see the movie together in celebration of all their hard work.

"Corky" Inspires WMS & WHS Circle of Friends

Circle of Friends This past Friday afternoon out at WHS, the Circle of Friends Organizations at WMS and WHS had an awesome and unique guest speaker present to their group. Corky Siebert, The Arc Of Sedgwick County Pride Performer was born 63 years ago and his parents were given no hope for Corky. He would be totally blind and handicapped in multiple ways his entire life.

The WMS 6TH GRADE KNIGHT BAND IN CONCERT!

WMS BAND CONCERT A nice sized crowd was on hand Monday evening out at Wellington High School to enjoy the performance of the WMS BAND under the direction of Mr. Ben Olson. The young musicians performed numerous Christmas Carols to the enjoyment of those present. Great Job Knights!!

WMS CHOIR CONCERTThe WMS CONCERT CHOIR under the direction of Choral Director Jessica Coldwell, presented several numbers Monday evening out at Wellington High School. A superb performance by all - BRAVO!! The 6th Grade opened with "RED RIVER VALLEY" and then a medley of "SOUND OF MUSIC" favorites.

Catching Dreams @ WMS - The Good Kind!

DREAM CATCHERSMrs. Mayfield's Native American History classes at WMS were busy this past week with another hands-on project! Each class member constructed their own "Dream Catcher" to hang over their beds! What is a Dream Catcher you ask? Native Americans gave their children "Dream Catchers" to keep away the bad dreams.
