Wellington 4th/5th Graders Attend Symphony & More!

Some of Wellington's Fourth & Fifth graders attended the Wichita Symphony's Young People's Concert on Thursday. It was "Gershwin's Magic Key." Afterwards the group had an interesting visit to the Sedgwick County Historical Museum in honor of Kansas Day! A wonderful time was had by all! D.A.R.E. Graduation Held @ WHS - Jan. 2016

D.A.R.E. GRADUATIONWellington's 5th graders are now official D.A.R.E. GRADUATES after a ceremony Tuesday evening at WHS. WPD Officer Jim Yunker, the school district SRO leads up the D.A.R.E. classroom training for the students here in USD 353. S.A.D.D. members from WHS assisted Officer Yunker with the program.


MATH NIGHTParents, Grandparents, Students and even former students gathered at Washington Elementary, Thursday, Jan. 21st for the 2nd Annual MATH Night!! The halls and rooms were filled with laughter, flying math balls, brainteasers, math Jenga, Garbage, Heads-Up, Plexors, math technology, and more.

Washington 3rd/4th Grade Christmas Music Program 121015

WASHINGTON CHRISTMAS PROGRAM Christmas music filled the air Thursday evening in the Little Theater at WMS - the Washington Elementary's 3rd and 4th graders put on their annual Christmas Program under the direction of instructor Pam Thompson who is in her tenth year at USD 353. The 3rd graders took the stage first, singing "Sing We Now Of Christmas", "Celebramos Juntos" and Hip Hop Elves.

Christmas Is In The Air @ Washington Elementary!

WASHINGTON TREE TRIMMING Christmas was in the air Wednesday at Washington Elementary. The students and staff enjoyed entertaining each other with song and Christmas readings. The festive event culminated with the annual tree decorating in the main hall. Each student had prepared their own ornament to put on the tree - and they did just that!


Snickers vs Butterfingers Mr. Bob Meyer's 4th grade class at Washington Elementary has been studying the election processes, the electoral college and other aspects of how voting takes place in our country, etc. That learning process on Tuesday was totally hands on as students and others were allowed to vote for their favorite - either SNICKERS or BUTTERFINGERS.

"Grace and the Time Machine" - Mustang Style!

GRACE AND THE TIME MACHINEThe Washington Elementary 4th grade Mustangs took to the stage Tuesday afternoon and presented to a large crowd of fellow students, parents, staff and others, "GRACE AND THE TIME MACHINE". The play involved time travel to the future, to the past and eventually back home for a cup of tea.


DADS AND DONUTSIt was DADS & DONUTS time at Washington Elementary Wednesday before class time commenced. The Mustangs, accompanied by their dads, or uncles, or granddads spent some quality time together, drinking OJ, eating donuts and looking over the new free book each student was able to select and keep.
