In March of 2016 the Sumner County Community Drug Action Team submitted an application for the Drug Free Communities grand funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Last week SCCDAT was notified that they have been awarded a $125,000 Drug Free Communities grant.
The funds will be included in the Sept 2016 – Sept. 2017 budget, and the grant is renewable for another four years following this budget period which will end Sept. 29, 2021.
SCCDAT was one of 81 communities in the country to be selected as a grant recipient and only one of two in Kansas, with Manhattan being the other. The SCCDAT organization would like to say a “huge thank you” to the 2015 volunteer grant writers for being a big help to their 2016 writers to have that information as a resources and a place to start.
They always want to thank the community for their support and dedication to the coalition and the mission of SCCDAT over the years.
