During the halftime of the Girls Varsity Game Friday, another exciting event, Senior DeAndre Washington received his official invitation to this coming June’s SHRINE BOWL in Dodge City. Many SHRINERS were on hand (no go-carts thankfully) and made the invitational presentation to DeAndre with his family and fans looking on! Congrats DeAndre – that is a great honor, it’s been 15 years since the IRONDUKES last had a participant in the SHRINE BOWL. Way to represent young man!
The DUKE DANCE was the final chapter to a week of royal fun for students at WHS and other schools across the district. On Friday, Dakota Lynnes was crowned the 2018-2019 WHS DUKE. A musical (and quite humorous) group from Belle Plaine, calling themselves the "APPLE PICKERS", performed Tuesday at Eisenhower Elementary, as part of the EAGLE celebration of KANSAS DAY! The "Apple Pickers" integrate info about "KANSAS" into their music, making it quite apropos for the occasion. Enjoy the pics and the video of their musical finale, "When The Saints Come Marching In"...
