The Battles Were On At The Washington Spelling Bee!

The 2nd through 5th grades at Washington Elementary this past week held a Spelling Bee with parents and classmates on hand to observe. It was a battle in each class to ascertain an eventual winner but winners were eventually determined. Congratulations go out to 5th grader Fredrick, 4th grader Jagger, 3rd grader Levi and 2nd grader Raelynn for hanging on for their respective wins! 2017 D.A.R.E. Graduation for 5th Graders @ WHS

The 2017 D.A.R.E. Graduation Ceremony for area 5th graders was held Wednesday evening at WHS. SRO and D.A.R.E. facilitator Jim Yunker of the Wellington Police Department MC'd the event which includes recognition of the program, the participants and more. Awards are presented to the students for various achievements associated with the D.A.R.E. program and the event is attended by a large contingent of proud family members and friends. Lincoln 2nd Graders Host Community Speakers!

A slate of speakers from the community visited Mrs. Worley's 2nd grade classroom at Lincoln Elementary this past week as part of the American Education Week celebration across the school district. A Little Afternoon Snack For Principal Smith!

A couple dozen Kennedy Cardinals were rewarded in a big way Friday for improving their scores recently during MAPS TESTING! Principal Stephanie Smith, donned in plastic head and body gear, withstood pie after pie after pie to the face as smiles and laughter filled the school just prior to dismissal for the weekend. Kudos to Mrs. Smith for being such a great sport - and kudos to the kids for their improvements with their testing!
