Every Veterans Day for the past 15+ years, a marvelous Veterans Day program has been presented at WHS, originally at the old high school on "A" Street and now of course the high school on E. 16th since it's doors opened 14 years ago. The event is always popularly attended and enjoyed by students and adults alike.

The Crusader Band under the direction of Ben Olson performs. Choirs from area grade schools, the middle school and the high school also perform. The Star Spangled Banner is played, the crowd is led by Commander Bernie Matson in the Pledge of Allegiance and our Mayor Shelley Hansel made her Veterans Day proclamation. The American Legion Chaplain Wayne White provided prayer.

The Crusaders of the Stage performed a tribute to Veterans and the event's guest speaker Frank Korte was introduced by Jim Valentine, both Army Vietnam War Veterans. A video by Ray Kennedy "Brothers In The Night" was also shown. Then the "Salute to America's Finest" as Veterans and Service Members stand during their respective military songs.
