Wellington "Potluck" Community Dinner Held Monday!

The Wellington "Potluck" Community Dinner took place Monday evening at the Knights of Columbus Hall in downtown Wellington. Table hosts (volunteers from the community) provided side dishes, drinks and tableware...Mrs. Karla Lawless from WHS and her FAC students provided the meat, tables and chairs. The meal was FREE for those that stopped in. The event ran from 5:45pm until around 7:00pm.

A New Duchess Reigns!

What a week and what a finale! The New WHS Duchess was crowned Friday evening during halftime at the Wellington vs Augusta football game. 

Congratulations to Juliette Hyer!  Other candidates were Jacelyn Buck, Taylor Meyer, Arielle Pottier, and Skylar Troutman. An awesome group of candidates and escorts and children. A great week across the district!

Shiver Me Timbers Eagles - A Magic Man Named Dan!

The Eisenhower Eagles, as part of their Spirit Week activities, took part Wednesday in the national "Talk Like A Pirate Day", dressing as pirates and watching a pirate-themed magic show performed by "Dan, Dan the Magic Man". Anyone around WHS in the early 2,000's will recognize "Dan" in the pictures below, as Dan Heath, the former drama teacher at Wellington. His magic show was quite funny and the young Eagles and the old photographer were entertained. Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!

"Exploration Place" visits with "Science in the Summer" Program

The "GSK Science in the Summer" program was in town Tuesday, compliments of Exploration Place in Wichita. What is GSK Science in the Summer you ask? It's a fun and free science education program for students entering grades two through six. Many hands-on activities as they explore the fascinating world of science! The students create their own rocket, investigate the stars and discover how to protect yourself in space. About a dozen or so students were on hand for the 5 hour event.
