WMS Radio Team Meets with USD 353 School Board Members!

Wellington Middle School students presented at the BOE meeting Monday night.

Anna Ewing, Milo Elder, Hank Shinliver, Brodee Lough and Gavin Witham are members of the WMS radio team. They gave the BOE information about WMS radio including their mission and goals, how they raise funding, day to day operations and their hopes for WMS radio in the future. Great job, Knights!

Wellington Senior Accepted to A.M.D.A. in LA!

Michaela Adkins, a Wellington High School Senior, has recently been accepted into the American Musical and Dramatic Arts Academy (AMDA) in Los Angeles. AMDA is a private performing arts college with their education opportunities spanning the major performing arts disciplines of Acting, Music Theatre and Dance Theatre. Notable AMDA Alumni include Jesse Tyler Ferguson, actor and star of Modern Family, and pop singer Jason Derulo.

Successful Market Day for WHS Youth Entrepreneurs!

Mrs. Melissa Buchanan's Youth Entrepreneur Class had a successful "Market Day" at WHS on Wednesday. A nice variety of offerings, even an opportunity to do pull-ups and get a discount on your Pizza purchases. Everything from Mexican Food, to Walking Tacos, to Chicken Alfredo, to Cookies / Cakes and more were available to the staff and students during lunch. Many of the products moved quickly, all tables seemed to be having considerable success with their business endeavors. 

"SUPERFAN" Awards Distributed!

WHS Athletic Director Luke Smith has been busy this week handing out SUPERFAN Awards on behalf of the Bank of Commerce and the CRUSADER APP sponsored by the bank. Users can "check-in" when at events and earn points in the process. Those with the most points at season's end, win prizes!! Here are those prizes and winners recently awarded and announced!!

WHS NHS Collects 56 Pints @ Blood Drive Wednesday!

The National Honor Society Crusader Chapter hosted a blood drive on Wednesday through the American Red Cross. The five hour event at WHS, netted 56 pints of blood from 57 donors. 22 NHS members worked the event and/or donated blood, which is very commendable.

The Crusader Chapter holds "2" blood drives each school year. The 2nd one is slated for February 28th so mark your calendars! It generally takes 30-45 minutes for the process and you have to be at least 16 yrs old. Parental permission is also required for those under 18.
